Indianapolis-The Indiana Civil Rights Commission (ICRC) and the Evansville Bar Association (EBA) will conduct a Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminar for attorneys and legal professionals in Evansville Friday, October 12, 2012 at the EBA office. The free training titled “Civil Rights and Public Accommodations” will be worth 3.0 CLE credits.

“It is important that we reach every corner of the state in our education and outreach efforts,” said Jamal L. Smith, Executive Director of the ICRC. “We want to ensure that legal professionals are familiar with recent cases and any changes in legislation. We are very excited to be working with the EBA for the second year in a row.”

The seminar, which begins at 9:00 am, will be led by Douglas R. Goeppner of the University of Southern Indiana, Amy Nelson of the Fair Housing Center of Central Indiana and James P. Casey of Ziemer, Stayman, Weitzel & Shoulders, LLP.

The CLE in Indianapolis is just one in a series of seven seminars in the ICRC’s 2012 Statewide Continuing Legal Education Program. Each of the program’s seminars are free to attend and will focus on local, state and federal anti-discrimination laws.
