Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church
The state historical marker for Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church was dedicated on June 20, 2009 in downtown Indianapolis. Workers completed construction on this building (shown above) in 1870. In 1991, this building was listed in the National Register of Historic Places.


Approximately 65 people attended the event, including representatives from the offices of Governor Mitch Daniels, Senator Evan Bayh, Congressman Andre Carson, and Mayor Greg Ballard.
