The Case Manager Orientation (CMO) provides a general overview of Medicaid and Home & Community Based Services waivers.  The introduces new case managers to Indiana’s waiver administration, operation requirements and how case management works with the Division of Aging  to ensure the health and safety of the individuals being served. Orientation information includes:

  • Aged & Disabled (A&D) and Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) Waivers
  • Incident Reporting
  • QA/QI functions
  • Nursing Facility Level of Care – E-Screens
  • Service Plans

All case managers must complete the Indiana Family and Social Services (FSSA) Case Manager Orientation within the first six months of employment. Until a case manager has successfully completed the orientation, the cannot apply for a waiver billing number.

Please note: A case manager may not provide services after 6 months or more leave of absence without attending CMO again.
