Grant Opportunities for Child Care Programs

August 20, 2014 - Women United of the United Way of Allen County has announced an exciting new grant opportunity for Level 1, 2, and 3 Paths to QUALITY programs in Allen County. The grant is being established to help Paths to QUALITY™ programs move up a Level in the Paths to QUALITY system by providing them with additional financial support for materials or teacher training and educatio. Up to $4,000 is available with a minimum of one grant of $4,000 being awarded and a maximum of four grants of $1,000 being awarded.

Interested programs must submit a grant application by October 3, 2014. Rules and restrictions are detailed on the application.

April 16, 2014 - The Bureau of Child Care is pleased to announce the recipients of the Early Education Matching Grants. Read the press release.

The Early Education Matching Grant (EEMG) Program was created by the Indiana General Assembly during the last legislative session IC12-17.2-3.7.  This competitive grant will increase the enrollment of eligible low income four year olds in high quality PreK programs. This competitive grant  is available to early care and education programs, including licensed and registered child care programs,  that are rated level 3 or level 4 on Paths to QUALITY™, Indiana’s child care quality rating and improvement system. Applicants must also meet the other eligibility criteria, including a cash match requirement.

Programs who are awarded the grant will be required to administer the ISTAR-KR. Click here for a brief introduction to the ISTAR-KR.  Additional information about the ISTAR-KR can be found on the Indiana Department of Education's website.
