“East of Nowhere” Exclusive Local Screening
Posted 2/10/12
Fort Wayne, IN – Knew Frame Productions, LLC and the Fort Wayne Cinema Center are having a screening for the independent feature length film titled “East of Nowhere.”
Knew Frame has partnered with Fort Wayne's Cinema Center to exclusively screen the film to local patrons on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. This will be in Andorfer Commons’ Theater on Indiana Tech’s campus located at 1600 E. Washington Blvd. Fort Wayne, IN 46803.
Knew Frame is a collaborative group of filmmakers that started working together at IPFW in the student organization IPFW Film Club. Most of the cast members that were selected from auditions were Fort Wayne based thespians. Additionally, the film was only shot in and around the Fort Wayne area. Over 60 people volunteered to work on this project over the course of a year.
There are many setbacks for filmmakers in general, but even more so for filmmakers who live in smaller markets, such as Fort Wayne. Luckily, there has been a huge outpouring of support from the local community to get the film completed. Many local businesses such as Deer Park Pub, Calhoun Street Soups, Salads and Spirits, Hyde Bros. Books, Accu Label, A-Plus Computers, B. Antonio’s Pizza, ACPL, Woodland Lounge, Raimondo’s, Wooden Nickel, Picasso’s, and Dawson’s Dogs donated time, money, and services to the film.
“East of Nowhere” and the filmmakers have also been featured on Rogue Cinema’s web newsletter, Whatzup, WANE-TV, The Fort Wayne Reader, and the Busco Voice.
Knew Frame has submitted the work to over 15 film festivals all over the country for the 2012 festival season. Additional future goals for the film are to continue to screen locally as well as obtain a contractual agreement with a distribution company so everyone can experience the “East of Nowhere” story.
The film is based on the filmmakers’ collective stories about their Midwest upbringings and a commentary on some of the lifestyles they have witnessed growing up in Middle America. Anyone is encouraged to attend this exclusive test screening and support local art and film. Viewer discretion is advised, as this film has not been rated by the MPAA.

Another film up for three awards is the closing film of the festival, the Edward Furlong film “Below Zero”, which will screen at 6:00 PM on Sunday February 19th. “Zero” follows screenwriter Jack “The Hack” (Furlong) who, facing writer’s block and a crucial deadline, decides to remove himself from all distractions by locking himself in the freezer of an abandoned slaughterhouse, where fiction and reality blur. Inspired by true events, method writer Signe Olynyk’s BELOW ZERO is a twisty story within a story, within a real-life story. The film also stars Kristin Booth and Michael Berryman. “Zero” was directed by Justin Thomas Ostensen who’s film “By the Wayside” screened at the inaugural DCFF in 2008. “Zero” is nominated for Best Feature, Best Actor (Furlong) and Best Actress (Booth).
