Casting for Student Film
Posted 2/3/12
The story surrounds a hitchhiker on his ambiguous and otherwise undefined journey. If you could pin his journey on anything - it would be for companionship. He gets picked up by 5 very different people with different purposes. In a sense - these drivers are in some form - manifestations of how the hitchhiker would envision himself in different livelihoods. As the story progresses - you learn that this hitchhiker does not reveal everything all at once but rather resorts to telling a lie before he tells the truth. On top of that he is a social chameleon as in he will modify facts about himself to be able to be more likable to others.

Available Roles
HITCHHIKER - Late 20's / Early 30's. Has a wide range of acting experience - especially in improvisation. He must be able to act very outgoing as well as very shy. Appearance is not specifically determined.

1ST DRIVER - NORMAL GUY - Mid to late 20's. Very easy going. His purpose in the film is to drive to see his girlfriend who he is having problems with.

2ND DRIVER - ARROGANT - This character continually boasts about his car and the last concern on his mind is the needs or wants of his passengers. Preferably 20s

3RD DRIVER - TRUCK DRIVER - His purpose in the film is delivering a load of something in his truck to a certain destination. He is the antithesis of the hitchhiker - which provides for an interesting bonding experience. Experience driving a truck is a plus. Late 30s / Early 40s.

4TH DRIVER - WOMAN - Her purpose is running away from her small home town. She runs into the hitchhiker in a diner. They have a small romantic spark that doesn't last long. Mid to late 20s.

5TH DRIVER - OLD MAN - His purpose is his work. His family has abandoned him because he works too much and chooses to spend time away from his family. 50s or 60s.

Unlike regular auditions - I will run individual auditions which will just be a meeting for coffee between you and I.

Filming will take place around the Indianapolis area in the Summer of 2012 for a month or two. Auditions will happen until that time. Each actor will not have to spend more than a week on shooting. And once their part is finished they will probably not be needed back.

If you participate in this film - you will find it will be much different than any other film you have done. Due to the high improvisational nature of this film I plan to keep the drivers as distanced from the hitchhiker as possible. This means you will not rehearse with your co-actor until the first day of shooting. So your task will be to really capture the essence of your character and be able to interact with others in the real world like your character. I will work with you until we can have a conversation out of the blue like your character would based on the background of the character. So my hope is that when you meet your screen partner for the first time - the reactions will be natural. If you think that you would be right for a part or have any questions about characters or the process at all - please give me a call.

Since the film takes place on the road - it can really take place anywhere. I am thinking of shooting it on US-31 which is off of I-465 WEST. However - this is not set in stone.

If interested, you can reach me (Brenton) at 317.797.0655 and my email is timelessfilms@gmail.com, website http://www.infinitefps.com/

Open Auditions for Independent Short Film "GREETINGS FROM YELLOW SPRINGS"
Posted 1/26/12
Bayonet Media, an eclectic collection of aspiring artists with various festival accolades, are currently casting actors for our science fiction opus, "Greetings from Yellow Springs."

"Greetings from Yellow Springs" is ambitious and indulgent. Our protagonist, Number 11, struggles to disconnect her virtual life from her real life while under the questionable supervision of her two eccentric robot companions. It’s raw. It’s satire. Think David Cronenberg's Videodrome meets Darren Aronofsky’s Requiem for a Dream.

The first stage of production will launch in mid-February. This is a non-union, low-budget short film intended for distribution at national festivals. All talent will receive copy and credit. Food, lodging, and transportation will also be provided by production.

Currently, we have two unfilled roles that will be played by the same actor.

CHARACTERS:

Smokey/The Driver (Male):
Age:40+
The Driver is a lifetime working stiff for urban America, a sarcastic grunt with a raspy drawl and a love of cigars. He shaves with a straight razor, but he hasn't shaved in weeks.

AUDITION INFORMATION:

If you are interested in this role, please email your resume, 3-5 headshots, and any video samples of work you've done to BayonetMedia@gmail.com and we can talk more from there!  Deadline is February 9th for submissions.

Cast & Crew Call for Indie Film “PETUNIA”
Posted 1/24/12
SYNOPSIS:  PETUNIA is a classically told modern love story that follows the beautiful yet tragic chain of events that weigh heavily on our title character. Petunia (18-25), a breathtakingly beautiful young woman, is abused and shunned by her father and his entire deceivingly pious and shady Amish colony. She runs away from the colony only to once again get involved with a powerful yet abusive and dangerous real-estate criminal, The Persian (35-45).  Jack (30-40), the well meaning tough guy looking for a change, is brought onto the payroll as The Persian's personal chauffeur and hired gun, but as he and Petunia are forced to interact with each other, their instinctual love for one an other becomes irrefutable.  While planning their escape from the violent grasp of The Persian and his henchmen, Jack and Petunia struggle through guilt, doubt and deadly gunfights in order to achieve the happiness and freedom that they have only seen in their dreams.

BREAKDOWN:  PETUNIA is to be shot and directed by Clayton Jackson and Matthew Levandoski, on the “Red One” digital cinema co. “EPIC” camera, in late March/ early April.  This is a SAG Ultra Low Budget agreement, (UNION & NON-UNION), film-noir style picture that tells a gritty, harsh and vividly realistic story about "Life, Love and the “Pursuit of Happiness".

Jasper(55-70): A kind faced, contented working class old man with a curmudgeonly side, wise eyes and crows feet from smiling. He believes people can and should be good. He is religious, but doesn’t preach.

Petunia’s Father(50-60): A large, imposing, angry, slightly overweight and graying man. A hypocritically violent and criminal Anabaptist.

Scotty Papers(30-50): African-American, thin, intelligent face, deadpan voice. Very well read, knowledgeable, calculating and diabolical.

Betty(50-60): A waitress all her life, a former beauty queen that never made it out of her hick town, has a penchant for adding the words ‘babe’ and ‘honey’ to all of her questions.

(2)-Thin Brothers(30-45): Tall, thin, anemic and quietly intimidating. They are both creepy, articulate and eccentric. Trackers and emulators, they get inside the head of their quarry. Both love his brother.

Do You Have a Primal Animal Behavior?  Up to $1000 Compensation
Posted 11/28/11
We’re looking for subjects for a new documentary-style television series.
Do you love animals? Have you transformed your life to be more like them?  To look more like them? Eat more like they do? Live more like them?
A thought provoking new TV series wants to hear from you!
Some of the stories we’ve looked into…

PET FOOD
Michael’s pets are his best friends. Throughout the years, he’s grown to envy their simple lives, and as a way to develop a deeper connection with them, he’s begun sharing their dinner on the floor. He feels that the line between master and pet is arbitrary, and that we can all learn a lot from our humble companions.

IN THE DOGHOUSE
John is an ex-addict who was kicked out of his parent’s house as a teenager. For years, he lived in various backyard doghouses for shelter, moving to find a new one whenever the homeowners became suspicious.  Now that he’s gotten clean, his sister has allowed him to move in with her but he still insists on living in a doghouse in her backyard. He feels safe in the small space with the creatures that never rejected him.

We are interested in trying to understand any unique animal or primal behavior!
