When completing your state individual income taxes, be aware of some deductions you be eligible for this year.
This is especially important to keep in mind when filing your state taxes. Here are a couple of deductions Indiana offers to help keep some of your hard-earned money in your pocket.
Did you know that, while the homeowners and renters deductions are the two most commonly claimed ones, Indiana offers around 20 other deductions, too? Maybe that caulk you replaced around your doors and windows last fall can be written off your taxes (it can – see insulation deduction). Likewise, maybe some of the unemployment compensation you drew last year can be deducted, too. For information about these and all of Indiana’s deductions, visit www.in.gov/dor/3799.htm
To contact a representative of the Department about your Indiana business tax account, you may contact a bilingual representative at (317) 232-2240 (press 2 for Spanish) from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, or you can submit questions via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org
You can also visit the Department’s Spanish Web site at www.impuestos.in.gov/ for more important information about Indiana taxes.
