INDIANAPOLIS (Feb 1, 2006) – A record number of users are taking advantage of the revamped I-File program today – the first day of its 2006 launch. Due to this record interest among taxpayers, I-File may be unavailable for a short time later today so that technical adjustments can be made to accommodate the increased demand.

The Department of Revenue has seen a 250-percent increase in demand for access to the I-File online program today, compared with peak demand numbers last year.

I-File has been upgraded substantially to encourage increased taxpayer use. The use of I-File, and electronic filing in general, can help to save the state significant money in processing tax returns.
