Electronic filing beneficial for last-minute filers
Electronic filing, with programs like I-File, can help minimize the stress for taxpayers that file at the last minute.
I-File, Indiana’s online tax-filing program is free to all Hoosier taxpayers and can greatly reduce common tax-filing errors. The I-File program chooses the correct tax form and walks taxpayers through each step of completing their Indiana return.
The Department reports 68 percent of individual income tax returns received this year have been filed electronically, while more than 71,000 taxpayers have filed their individual income tax returns using I-File.
Taxpayers can file and pay their state income taxes up to 11:30 p.m. on April 17 through I-File. For more information about I-File, visit https://secure.in.gov/apps/dor/ifile/
