Resilience is the ability to recover from or adjust easily to misfortune. In this case, we are talking about how quickly or easily communities can get back to normal after a flood event. These meetings held with local officials, DNR, and FEMA, are to identify problem areas in communities, and identify potential solutions to help minimize those problems in and after a flood event.
Prior to a watershed basin receiving updated and/or new flood studies, these meeting are held with local officials, DNR, and FEMA. The meetings help to identify available technical and mapping information for use in the studies, and areas of flood risk.
