The Ford Hoosier Outdoor Experience is free but registration is recommended. No tickets are required for entry. By registering, you will help us improve our outreach efforts for next year's event. All information collected will only be used for evaluating this event and won't be sold or released to third parties.
After registering, you may be contacted to participate in a quick study about the event.
By attending the event, you grant permission for the Indiana Department of Natural Resources and the Indiana Natural Resources Foundation staff to include your image or voice in any photo or video promotional material that may be recorded during the event. In other words, we'll have photographers and videographers taking pictures and recording video and that may wind up on the DNR website or official DNR-sponsored social media outlets.
The event has been condensed and is more convenient this year. All activities are within a mile of each other. The farthest activity from the bus dropoff/welcome center is six-tenths of a mile.
Once inside the park, this is a walking-only event. Please wear comfortable shoes, and bring small strollers and wagons if you have children or supplies to haul.
Limited parking for the event is at the south parking lot of the Maj. Gen. E.J. Bean Finance Center (see map). Use the DNR shuttles to travel to Fort Harrison State Park. There is no parking inside the park during the event. If using an online mapping site, enter your destination as the intersection of E. 56th Street and Post Road.
You will not be able to enter the main gates of the park. A walk-in entrance is available on Glenn Road. Park in the parking lot of the Maj. Gen. E.J. Bean Finance Center. Cross 56th Street at Herbert Lord Road. Follow the signs for 0.5 miles to the Glenn Road foot entrance.
