Regional Initiative Grant Program
Applications for FY2015 have now closed.
The Regional Initiative Grant (RIG) program was developed to help provide Indiana citizens access to quality arts and cultural activities, with special attention to underserved communities. RIG programs include Arts Project Support (APS) and Mini grants, Arts Operating Support I (AOS I), and Arts Operating Support II (AOS II).
In an effort to offer better access to arts services and funding opportunities throughout the state, the IAC created a Regional Arts Partnership with community-based Indiana organizations. Each partner focuses on providing better access to a variety of arts services within their designated counties.
- Must be a private, nonprofit, tax-exempt agency, 501(c)(3) status from the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) OR an Indiana public entity (part of city, county, or state government);
- Must be incorporated in the State of Indiana at the time of the application;
- Must have an address in the Region to which applicant is applying;
- Must not have an outstanding Final Grant Report due to the Indiana Arts Commission or the Regional Arts Partner; and
- Must have a governing body that is representative of the organization's service area.
For AOS I and AOS II: In addition to the eligibility requirements listed above, the Arts Operating Support grant programs have the following additional requirements:
- Arts programming and/or service must be stated in the organization's primary mission;
- Entities that receive state operating support directly from the general assembly are NOT eligible for operating support from the IAC;
- Must have one-year history of providing similar services being requested;
- Must annually implement program planning and evaluation processes with input from the community being served; and
- For AOS I - Must have an annual cash operating income from $50,000 to $249,999 over a three-year average as supported by most recent Financial Statement;
- For AOS II – Must have an annual cash operating income of $250,000 or more, over a three-year average as supported by most recent Financial Statement; and
- For AOS II – Must have a paid staff person who reports to the governing body.
The IAC serves as the facilitator for Region 7 in Central Indiana. Guidelines for Region 7 FY2015 (July 1, 2014 - June 30, 2015) APS and AOS I grants are available below.

How to Apply
Applicants located outside of Region 7 should contact their Regional Arts Partner for guideline information before accessing the online application.
- Complete the online application using the IAC's Online Grant System.
- All applicants must create a profile within the online system to be able to apply. The username and password created will be required each time you log into the system. If you have created a profile in the system for a different application, use your existing logins.
- When you login to the online system, select "Current Programs and Applications" and scroll down until you find the Regional Initiative Grant Application for the correct level of support (AOS or APS) and for the correct region.

Review Process and Criteria
Panelists will review all applications and evaluate how well each addresses the review criteria below.
Panel meetings are open to the public and applicants are encouraged to attend, but cannot lobby panelists on behalf of their applications. Please read the Panel Audience Information before attending a panel. During the panel, the IAC will use Twitter to notify applicants where we are in the paneling process.
