Indiana Nonprofit Capacity Assessment: Indiana's Arts and Culture Organizations In 2008, the Indiana Arts Commission enlisted researchers at the School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA) at Indiana University to implement a survey to better understand the capacity building and technical assistance needs of Indiana arts and culture organizations. Americans for the Arts Creative Industries Report
The 2012 survey concluded there were a total of 13,570 arts-related businesses in Indiana, employing an estimated 52,813 people as of January 2012. This figure represents an increase of 3,955 arts-related Indiana businesses since January 2010, and an increase of 3,926 full-time jobs during the same period.
