Weekend I-465 Restrictions
On Indianapolis’ West Side
INDIANAPOLIS – Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) contractors plan lane restrictions on I-465 on the city’s west side this weekend in preparation for opening additional lanes next week.
Crews from Walsh Construction, the state’s contractor, will place permanent pavement markings on I-465 in both directions between 10th and 38th Streets. The operation will require alternating lane restrictions and shifting traffic patterns in both directions through the weekend.
On Friday, November 2, two lanes will be open from 9 p.m. until midnight.
On Saturday, November 3, one lane will be open from midnight until 6 a.m. and two lanes will be open from 6 a.m. until midnight.
On Sunday, November 4, one lane will be open from midnight until 8 a.m. and two lanes will be open from 8 a.m. until work is complete.
Barring inclement weather, all permanent pavement markings are expected to be in place by Monday morning. I-465 will remain three through lanes in each direction—for the safety of motorists and workers—until permanent concrete wall is finished and temporary barrier wall is removed, which is expected to be complete by the end of next week.
Once new lanes are open, the segment of I-465 will have four lanes in each direction and additional auxiliary and ramp lanes for traffic entering and exiting the interstate. |
