The Brownsburg Public Library will be starting an archaeology club in August for children ages 10-13.  On this day, Division of Historic Preservation and Archaeology (DHPA) Archaeologist Wade Tharp will give a presentation about prehistoric and historical archaeology in Indiana, as well as archaeology theory and methods.  Then there will be a fun hands-on Garbology activity.  Children will learn about how archaeologists interpret material culture by what is left behind in the form of garbage.

This event is part of Indiana Archaeology Month. Throughout the month of September, the DHPA and other local organizations highlight archaeology around the state. To learn more about Archaeology Month, please visit http://www.in.gov/dnr/historic/3674.htm.
