[DNR] Free hunter education course offered near Evansville

Entry Description

A free Indiana Hunter Education course will be offered at St. Phillips Conservation Club, west of Evansville, between July 29 and Aug. 7.

The course will be taught by Conservation Officer John Pace and cover hunter responsibilities, firearms safety, water safety, all-terrain vehicle (ATV) laws, archery, muzzleloader hunting, handguns and wildlife management.

The dates for classes will be July 29 and 31, and Aug. 5 and 7. Each class runs from 6 to 9 p.m. Attendance is required each night for certification.

The course meets the education requirement for hunters born after Dec. 31, 1986, to obtain a hunting license.

St. Phillips Conservation Club is a half-mile east of St. Phillips Road on Upper Mt. Vernon Road.
