[ISP] Crash Investigation Reveals Woman Wanted on Drug Charges
Start Date: 6/11/2014Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 6/11/2014
Entry Description

Clay County—This afternoon at 2:25, Indiana State Police responded to a two-vehicle crash in front of a residence at 12500 North State Road 59 that caused one driver to be incarcerated on a warrant.

Preliminary investigation revealed a 2001 Ford Taurus driven by 24-year-old, Kacie N. Robertson of Dana, IN. was backing westbound from the residence at 12500 N. SR 59 onto SR 59. In doing so, the Robertson vehicle backed into the path of a northbound 2007 Chrysler SUV driven by 22-year-old Alysia M. Chase of Brazil, IN. The Chase vehicle then struck the Robertson vehicle on the passenger side. No injuries were reported, but Ms. Chase’s young daughter and son, who were in child restraint seats at the time of the crash, were examined by medical personnel from Trans Care EMS and released.

During the crash investigation, Kacie N. Robertson was found to be wanted on warrant from Vigo County for controlled substance violations. Robertson was incarcerated in the Vigo County Jail. Robertson was also found to not have a valid driver’s license. Robertson was cited for Driving While Suspended (Prior), No Vehicle Insurance, and Failure to Yield the Right of Way.

The crash was investigated by ISP Master Trooper Jeremy Lewis. Assisting were ISP Sergeant Brad Scully, ISP Trooper Brandon Mullen, and Trans Care EMS.

The Indiana State Police remind parents and all drivers, that child restraint seats play a vital role in motor vehicle safety of our young children. Under Indiana law, children under age eight must be in an approved child safety seat at all times while riding in a motor vehicle.
