End Date: 6/8/2014
Entry Description

Vermillion County—Yesterday morning at 11:45, the Vermillion County Sheriff’s Office received multiple cell 911 calls reporting an erratic driver southbound on State Road 63 near SR 234. The blue 1983 Mercedes was reportedly driving very slow, and all over the road.

Indiana State Police Master Trooper Jeremy Lewis was in the area and quickly located the vehicle after hearing the police radio broadcast reporting the possible impaired driver. Following the Mercedes were seven other vehicles with the drivers honking and pointing at the vehicle when they saw Trooper Lewis. Lewis observed the vehicle traveling 49 miles-per-hour in a 60mph zone, traveling off the road onto the shoulder, and at times, left of center. The vehicle was stopped and the driver was found to be in possession of three empty two gram packets of Spice, two full two gram packets of Spice and drug paraphernalia. The driver displayed classis signs of intoxication during the stop.

Arrested: Brian A. Wolf, age 23, of Veedersburg, Indiana
Preliminary Charges: Operating While Intoxicated
Reckless Driving
Possession of Spice
Incarcerated in Vermillion County Jail with no bond

Assisting Master Trooper Lewis was Vermillion County Sheriff’s Deputy Mike Strader.

Media Note: Spice is a designer drug that mimics the effects of cannabis and is sometimes known as synthetic marijuana.

The picture attached is from the arrest of Wolf. The location of Wolfe’s arrest was in the same area of SR 63 as a fatal crash that occurred on Friday, June 6.
