[IEDC] Healthcare Cloud Platform Firm Adds More Jobs At Its Indy Headquarters
Start Date: 5/2/2014Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 5/2/2014
Entry Description
INDIANAPOLIS (May 2, 2014) – hc1.com®, Inc., a healthcare cloud platform provider, announced plans today to expand its headquarters here, creating up to 175 new jobs by 2019.

The homegrown-Hoosier company will invest $2.5 million to lease and renovate an additional 9,466 square feet to expand its current 16,626 square-foot headquarters facility at the Northwest Technology Park in Boone County. hc1.com, which moved into its new location this past February, expects the new space to be operational by the end of the year.

“Homegrown companies like hc1.com continue to spur innovation, pushing Indiana’s economy forward by contributing to the growing investment and job creation in our state,” said Governor Mike Pence. “With our world-class universities, business-friendly tax policies and highly-skilled workforce, technology companies from around the state and across the country are deciding that Indiana is the best place to grow and succeed.”

This is hc1.com’s third major expansion in central Indiana in the last three years. Just last November, hc1.com announced plans to invest $1.4 million to expand its Indianapolis headquarters, creating 62 new jobs. Also, in 2010 the firm made plans to invest $321,250 to expand its Boone County operations, adding 61 new jobs.

hc1.com, which currently employs more than 90 associates, including 70 full-time Indiana employees, has already begun hiring additional software engineers, sales executives, product solution architects, client success managers, reporting analysts and operations personnel. Interested applicants can apply at www.hc1.com/careers.

“hc1.com is expanding rapidly as we work with healthcare organizations to transform the healthcare experience for people across North America and around the globe. Our recently announced partnership with lab technology giant Beckman Coulter and our growing sales team is further accelerating our expansion,” said Brad Bostic, chairman and chief executive officer of hc1.com. “As we expand, the support provided by the state of Indiana and Boone County has been instrumental in our decision to locate our headquarters and growing team here in Indiana.”

Under Bostic’s leadership, the company has become a global leader in the healthcare relationship management space, recognized as a 2013 Red Herring Top 100 North America award winner, a 2013 Indiana Companies to Watch Spotlight winner and a 2013 TechPoint Mira Awards recipient for healthcare technology innovation. hc1.com is nominated for awards in the Health Tech and Emerging Tech Company of the Year categories at this year’s TechPoint Mira Awards.

The Indiana Economic Development Corporation offered hc1.com, Inc. up to $2,985,000 in conditional tax credits and up to $100,000 in training grants based on the company’s job creation plans. These tax credits are performance-based, meaning until Hoosiers are hired, the company is not eligible to claim incentives. Boone County approved additional incentives at the request of the Boone County Economic Development Corporation. hc1.com has been a 21 Fund portfolio company since late 2010.

“The fact that hc1.com is growing again, adding 175 new, high-paying jobs in Zionsville, is a testament to the continued success of the company,” said Jeff Papa, Zionsville Town Council president. “hc1.com is relentless in its quest to be at the forefront of the industry, and we’re proud hc1.com calls Zionsville its home.”

Forbes recently ranked the Indianapolis area among the nation’s top 10 metro areas for technology job growth. Additionally, a report released by TechPoint last month showed that from 2009 to 2012, computer-related employment in Indiana grew 5.4 percent, from 57,750 jobs to 61,050. Almost half of those jobs—48 percent—were located in the Indianapolis-Carmel metropolitan statistical area.

About IEDC
Created in 2005 to replace the former Department of Commerce, the Indiana Economic Development Corporation is governed by a 12-member board chaired by Governor Mike Pence. Victor Smith serves as the Indiana Secretary of Commerce and Eric Doden is the president of the IEDC.   The IEDC oversees programs enacted by the General Assembly including tax credits, workforce training grants and public infrastructure assistance. All tax credits are performance-based. Therefore, companies must first invest in Indiana through job creation or capital investment before incentives are paid. A company who does not meet its full projections only receives a percentage of the incentives proportional to its actual investment. For more information about IEDC, visit www.iedc.in.gov
