Scottsburg-At approximately 3:05 pm on yesterday’s date, Motor Vehicle Enforcement Trooper Troy Boyd from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg responded to a school bus crash on Vest Street in Scottsburg near the Hyland Elementary School. When he arrived and began investigating the crash he discovered that Eric L. Couch, 24, from Estill Street in Scottsburg for an unknown reason was walking in the roadway on Vest Street. While walking in the roadway he was struck by a Scott County School District #2 School Bus, driven by Michael Stearns, 66, of Scottsburg. No one on the bus was injured. Eric Couch was transported to the Scott Memorial Hospital in Scottsburg with non-life threatening injuries. A witness to the crash stated they saw the pedestrian, Eric Couch, in the roadway and it looked as though he was looking down at an electronic device in his hand before the crash.
