Entry Description
ELWOOD, Ind.—The Indiana Department of Transportation reopened State Road 28 at Elwood shortly before 10 a.m. today—restoring traffic to the state’s east-west highway that closed when a city water main ruptured on February 14. Maintenance workers from the INDOT subdistrict at Tipton placed 225 tons of crushed stone in a large hole which had been excavated for water line repairs.
Motorists are advised to drive slowly at the repair site located one block east of S.R. 13 on S.R. 28 where pavement is interrupted by the section of crushed stone.
Permanent asphalt repairs should be made when weather warms in the spring. |
