| Bill lifts tuition restrictions for undocumented college students |

Entry Description INDIANAPOLIS – An initiative restoring in-state tuition for children of undocumented immigrants who were initially enrolled at in-state tuition levels prior to 2011 passed the Senate Committee on Education and Career Development on Wednesday. Senate Bill (SB) 207, supported by the state’s seven public universities, allows students who were enrolled on or before July 1, 2011 to pay in-state tuition. State Senator Earline Rogers (D-Gary) noted that the legislation aims to provide opportunities for student who, as a result of previous law, had to put their education on hold.
