Entry Description
Clark County- Shortly before 4:00 pm on today’s date, a trooper from the Indiana State Police Post at Sellersburg initiated a traffic stop on a red 2005 Kia after the Kia committed a traffic infraction. The traffic stop was near the 23 Mile Marker just inside of Clark County on Interstate 65 south. During the traffic stop a state police K-9 was called to the scene and made a positive alert for a controlled substance possibly present in the vehicle.
During a search of the vehicle troopers located suspected heroin, a controlled substance, paraphernalia and a hypodermic syringe. The driver, Christopher D. Stidham, aka “Hippy”, 40, from Austin, IN was arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of a Schedule One Controlled Substance, D Felony; Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, D Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, A Misdemeanor; and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, D Felony. A passenger in the car, Connie M. Stidham, (driver’s sister), 36, from Austin, IN was also arrested at the scene and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance, D Felony, (Two Counts); Possession of a Hypodermic Syringe, D Felony; Possession of Paraphernalia, D Felony; and Maintaining a Common Nuisance, D Felony.
Both of the arrested were incarcerated at the Clark County Jail awaiting their first court appearance. |
