[DNR] Spring Mill SP hosts a wheat weaving workshop

Come to Spring Mill State Park and learn the ancient art of wheat weaving at a Feb. 27 workshop.

Participants will make three traditional designs, the love knot, the sweetheart and the glory braid. The workshop runs from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Elm Room at Spring Mill Inn. All supplies are provided.

The workshop includes a buffet lunch at Spring Mill Inn’s Millstone dining room.

The art of wheat weaving had almost become nonexistent by the mid 1900s. In the 1960s there was a revival of interest.

Only 15 spots will be available and advance registration is required by Feb. 23 to the Spring Mill Inn at (812) 849-4081. The cost is $30 per person.
