Entry Description
STATEHOUSE (Feb. 11, 2013) – State Sen. John Waterman (R-Shelburn) recently welcomed the following local students to the Statehouse, where they served as Senate pages:
• Bryan Andrews, from Vincennes, attends Rivet Middle School.
• Alek Copeland, from Farmersburg, attends North Central High School.
Pages spend a day at the Statehouse touring the historic building, observing debates from the chamber floor and interacting with their state senators.
“I invite all interested students from our area to come to the Statehouse and serve as a page for the day,” Waterman said. “Not only do pages have the opportunity to learn firsthand about their state legislature and our historic Capitol, but they will also hear discussion on important issues facing Hoosiers.”
Students in grades six through 12 can participate in the page program on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays through April 4.
