[ISP] Cocaine Found During Traffic Stop

Entry Description

Jeffersonville- At approximately 11:54 pm last night, Trooper Patrick Stinson made a traffic stop on a 2011 Chevrolet for a traffic violation near Southern Indiana Avenue and 3rd Street in Jeffersonville. During the traffic stop it was determined that the driver, Joe L. Ray Jr., 49, from Del Park Terrace in Louisville, KY, was under the influence of alcohol and was placed under arrest for Operating While Intoxicated, A Misdemeanor. Subsequent to the arrest during a search of the vehicle, Joe L. Ray Jr. was driving, approximately five grams of suspected Cocaine and Paraphernalia were located.

Joe L. Ray Jr. was also charged with in Dealing in Cocaine, A Felony; Possession of Cocaine over Three Grams, B Felony and Possession of Paraphernalia, A Misdemeanor.

Joe L. Ray Jr. was incarcerated in the Clark County Jail awaiting his first court appearance.

All subjects are presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
