Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann Continues Hoosier Women’s Artist Contest
And is Now Accepting Entries
Indianapolis - Lt. Governor Sue Ellspermann is continuing the office tradition of celebrating the arts. The Hoosier Women Artist Contest is in its sixth year and applications are being accepted through March 3.
Winners of The Hoosier Women Artist Contest will have their artwork displayed in the lieutenant governor’s office for one year. The contest celebrates a variety of artistic interests including drawings, paintings and photography. Past entries have included – but are not limited to – portraits, landscapes, animals, buildings and abstracts.
“These talented Hoosier women have the skills to beautifully express themselves through their artwork,” said Lt. Governor Ellspermann. “I’m so honored to have their work on display in my office for our state, national and international visitors to view.”
The winning artwork is judged and selected by a panel that includes Lt. Governor Ellspermann and professors from the Indiana University Herron School of Art and Design at IUPUI.
Applications along with electronic copies of the artwork can be submitted on-line through the lieutenant governor’s website, www.in.gov/lg or mailed to 200 West Washington Street, Room 333, and Indianapolis, IN 46204. A statehouse program and reception will be held for all winners in late March.
