Entry Description
Yesterday morning (1/5/13) around 10:30 a.m. Trooper Will Hughes was working crash reduction patrol on I-69 around the 32 mile marker when he clocked a north bound Chevrolet car at 83 in the 70 zone. Excessive speed is one of the top causes for crashes in Indiana. Hughes caught up to the vehicle and stopped it at the 34 mile marker.
After speaking to the driver, Hughes became suspicious. Further investigation found the driver to be in Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia. The driver, Brock A. Cowgill, age 19 of Marion, was lodged in the Delaware County Jail for the two “A” Misdemeanor charges.
Then a little before 3 p.m. yesterday Trooper Kyle West was working crash reduction patrol on U.S. 35 in Economy, in Wayne County, when he stopped a 2007 Chevrolet Impala for a traffic violation. Further investigation on that stop revealed the driver to be in Possession of Marijuana and Paraphernalia, both Class “A” Misdemeanors.
Arrested was Brittany Dufinetz, age 21 of Muncie. She was lodged in the Wayne County Jail. Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.
All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law. |
