[ISP] Two Arrested in Baby Mountain Neighborhood On Meth Related Charges
Start Date: 8/6/2013Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 8/6/2013End Time: 11:59 PM
Entry Description

Kendallville, IN-A LaGrange County man and a Kendallville woman were arrested early this morning by the Indiana State Police Anti-Crime Enforcement (A.C.E) Team on charges related to meth at a residence in the rural neighborhood of Baby Mountain.

According to Trooper Brian Kreger, today at approximately 4:00 a.m., he along with Troopers Caleb Anderson, Mike Carroll and K-9 Deezle went to a residence in the 1500 block of Brookview Boulevard. They were initially looking for a man that was wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant.

During their interaction with a female resident of the home, 21 year old Krystal Allison Reeves, their attention was drawn to a man who had driven up, with his vehicle's lights off and parked near the residence. As 32 year old Jeremy Allen Sawyer of rural LaGrange exited his vehicle, he was dressed in dark colored clothing and was walking up to and around the residence in a suspicious manner.

When Trooper Carroll identified himself and gave Sawyer a verbal command to go to the ground, he dropped to his knees and began reaching into one of his pant pockets. He allegedly pulled out a clear baggie with a white powder, which was later determined to be meth, and threw it away from him. Reeves then allegedly picked up the baggie and tried to throw it, but was stopped by Trooper Anderson, who had to physically take it from her.

Both Sawyer and Reeves were taken into custody without incident and transported to the Noble County Jail. The man troopers were initially looking for was not located. The Noble County Prosecutor has filed the following charges:

Sawyer-Possession of Methamphetamine, Class D Felony
Reeves-Obstruction of Justice/Tampering of Evidence, Class D Felony
