Peru – Last night, a traffic stop by Indiana State Trooper Luke Bowyer led to the arrests of Katherine Foxworth, 24, Daniel Fogtman, 25, Daniel Shields, 23, and Gregory Kuzman 29, all from Lexington, KY. All four were incarcerated in the Miami County Jail. Fogtman was arrested on felony charges for possession of marijuana with a prior conviction, possession of LSD, possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of methamphetamine. Yesterday evening, at approximately 4:00 p.m., Indiana State Trooper Luke Bowyer initiated a traffic stop on a Honda Accord traveling northbound on U.S. 31 near Miami County Road 600 North. Bowyer stopped the Honda when the driver, identified as Foxworth, allegedly failed to signal a lane change as required by Indiana traffic statue.

During the course of the traffic stop, Bowyer noticed indicators that criminal activity might be afoot and requested a narcotics detecting police dog. Trooper Daniel Prus and his narcotics detecting police dog, Zeke, arrived to assist.

Prus deployed Zeke to conduct a free air sniff around the Honda. Zeke gave a positive alert to the odor of illegal narcotics inside the vehicle. During a subsequent search of the Honda, and its occupants, officers allegedly found methamphetamine, marijuana, prescription medication, cocaine, psilocybin mushrooms, LSD, and drug paraphernalia.

Citizens are encouraged to call their local law enforcement agencies with any information about the possession, distribution, or manufacturing of illegal narcotics. Information can also be reported anonymously by calling the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756.
