Start Date: 5/23/2013Start Time: 12:00 AM
End Date: 5/23/2013End Time: 11:59 PM
Entry Description

Sullivan County—ISP Detectives from the Putnamville Post are currently soliciting help from the public with the nearly six month investigation into the death of rural Sullivan County farmer, 85-year-old Lowell R. Badger.

With the onset of warm weather and the propensity for folks to be hiking, fishing, mowing, and other summer activities, detectives request person(s) be vigilant of items which may have been discarded by the perpetrator(s) of this heinous crime; particularly in the area of SR 154 West of US 41 and north, with special attention to areas around West County Road 350 North. Special attention should be given to roadsides, ditches, and wooded areas close to a road.

Possible items could be gloves, tools, knives, any type of firearm, and anything else that appears suspicious or out of place. Two specific items detectives are looking for is Badger’s personal safe and a black 46” Sony Bravia LCD television, both taken during the murder. The safe is a gray substantially older model version, that is approximately two feet in width and depth and 3 ½ feet in height.

Should a person find such article(s), please contact the Indiana State Police Post at Putnamville, 765-653-4114 or the Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office at 812-268-4044. Anyone with information in this case is urged to call ISP Detectives First Sergeant Jeff Hearon or Tom Hanks at the Putnamville Post.

Lowell R. Badger was found deceased on his bedroom floor after suffering a gunshot wound sometime between 8:00p.m. on December 7 and 9:23a.m. December 8th, 2012. The Badger home is located at 10447 West County Road 350 North, Sullivan County.

Please direct any questions to ISP Sergeant Joe Watts.
