Entry Description
State Sen. Mike Delph (R-Carmel) issued the following statement today regarding the Sept. 24 multi-city raid of the Acapulco Mexican Restaurant chain. Indiana police arrested 41 suspects and began serving arrest warrants for 67 others who were found to be using fake Social Security numbers:
STATEHOUSE (Sept. 27, 2012) – “This raid, proficiently executed by Indiana State Excise Police and the outstanding work of Superintendent Matt Strittmatter, is another example of why illegal immigration is a problem that must be addressed. More than 80 percent of those who were arrested were illegal immigrants.
“Not only will victims who may have had their identities stolen face hardships, Indiana’s hard-working law enforcement officers had to use their vital resources to stop these criminals, who are now in jails paid for by Hoosier taxpayers.
“This cycle has to be stopped.”
