Entry Description
Vigo County—The Indiana State Police and Vigo County Coroner’s Office have identified the deceased driver and the injured passenger involved in a multi-vehicle crash on Interstate 70 near the 12 mile marker on 9-16-2012 at 6:55p.m.
Deceased Driver: Lisa M. Carder, age 55, of Olathe, Kansas (Family Notified)
Injured Passenger: Thomas Carder, age 59, Olathe, Kansas (husband)
The Carder’s were in the gray 2008 Chevrolet Colorado pickup struck in the rear by the red, 2002 Chevrolet S10 that was initially struck in the rear by a tractor-trailer.
Thomas Carder, Charles Loyd and Connie Loyd all remain hospitalized at Methodist Hospital of Indianapolis, each with multiple injuries. The Loyd’s were in the red, 2002, Chevrolet S10.
The autopsy on Mrs. Carder has been delayed until tomorrow 9-18-2012.
The tractor-trailer driver that initiated the impact, Richard L. Merry, age 51, Hamilton, Ohio was treated at Terre Haute Regional Hospital for what is believed to be minor injuries.
The crash remains under investigation by ISP Sergeant Chris Wright and at the conclusion of the investigation (possibly one week) the report will be submitted to the Vigo County Prosecutor’s Office for review.
