Dearborn County: Early yesterday morning, September 16, Trooper Kyle Stovall arrested four Ohio men on numerous drug related charges after stopping the vehicle for a traffic violation.  According to Tpr. Stovall, yesterday morning at approximately 1:00 a.m. he was patrolling U.S. 50 eastbound in Lawrenceburg following behind a 1998 Chevrolet Monte Carlo when he noticed the driver was not wearing his seat belt.  Tpr. Stovall stopped the vehicle near Florence Drive in Lawrenceburg and identified the driver as 26 year old Luther A. Ashcraft of Okeana, OH.  As Ashcraft was looking through his glove compartment for the vehicle registration Tpr. Stovall noticed a baggie in the glove compartment which he asked Ashcraft to hand him.  The baggie contained what appeared to be a small amount of marijuana.  Also during the course of the traffic stop Tpr. Stovall noticed other containers within the vehicle that contained what he suspected to be marijuana and he also could smell the odor of burnt marijuana from within the vehicle and about Ashcraft’s person.  Ashcraft and three other occupants were asked to exit the vehicle and a subsequent search revealed LSD, Adderall, “synthetic” urine, and articles of paraphernalia.

Arrested and Charges:

Luther A. Aschraft-Possession of LSD, Possession of Schedule II Narcotic, Maintaining a Common Nuisance (all Class D Felonies), Possession of Marijuana-Less than 30 grams, Possession of Paraphernalia (both Class A Misdemeanors), and Possession of a Substance used to Interfere with Drug Screening-Synthetic Urine (Class B Misdemeanor).

Dane T. Bacovin, age 26-Okeana, OH-Possession of Marijuana-Less than 30 grams, Class A Misdemeanor, Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B Misdemeanor

Daniel P. Becker, age 28-Okeana, OH-Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B Misdemeanor

Justin S. Bovard, age 30-Okeana, OH-Visiting a Common Nuisance, Class B Misdemeanor

All four individuals were transported to the Dearborn County Law Enforcement Center.  Tpr. Stovall was assisted at the scene by Sgt. Matt Burkhardt, Troopers Brent Miller and Brian Earls, and Lawrenceburg Police Officer Troy Cochran.

Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
