Vigo County---The Indiana State Police Putnamville District conducted traffic patrols on both Friday and Saturday evenings of the Scheid Diesel Event held at the Vigo County Fairgrounds. The extra patrols were in place to ensure the safety of those attending the event as well as the motoring public.

The troopers utilized plain cars, high performance Mustangs, and marked patrol cars to conduct the extra patrols.

On Thursday evening, August 23rd, from 10p.m. until midnight, troopers from the Putnamville Post along with officers from the Terre Haute Police Department and Vigo County Sheriff’s Office conducted a DUI checkpoint on US 40 near the Wabash River. The checkpoint was part of the current Operation Pull Over “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign, along with an increase in traffic arriving for the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza.
