INDOT Public Open House for
Operation Indy Commute: I-69

FISHERS, Ind. – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will host a public open house for the Operation Indy Commute – I-69 project, which seeks to strategically improve traffic flow on I-69 between the I-465 and 116^th Street/State Road 37 interchanges.  Project team members will be available to answer questions, and a formal presentation will outline the construction schedule—including temporary ramp closures to expect this fall and in 2013.

Businesses and commuters can learn about the planned improvements on Thursday, Aug. 16, at the Fishers Town Hall Auditorium, located at 1 Municipal Drive.  INDOT will host an informal open house from 5 to 8 p.m.  The formal project presentation is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. and will include details about temporarily closing the 116^th Street loop ramp access to State Road 37 and I-69 this fall.  Details of ramp closures and other traffic restrictions on the southbound side of the interchange and mainline I-69 during construction next year will also be discussed.

Construction on the northbound side of the Exit 205 interchange started this spring.  I-69 is currently restricted to two lanes north of Exit 205 as a new two-lane flyover ramp to State Road 37 is constructed.  Milestone Contractors, the state’s contractor for the $18 million project, is expected to complete the northbound improvements this year and finish southbound work by the end of 2013.
