Entry Description
Jefferson/Clark Counties: This morning Indiana State Police executed four search warrants in Jefferson County and one in Clark County as a result of a nine month investigation by the ISP Organized Crime and Corruption Unit (OCCU). In October, 2011 detectives from the Indiana State Police OCCU began investigating “Needful Things” a business with locations in Jefferson and Clark Counties involving alleged racketeering and financial violations. That investigation continued today when Indiana State Police simultaneously executed search warrants at locations on Clifty Drive, East 1st St., and Thompson Road in Madison, Deputy Pike in Deputy, IN and Eastern Blvd. in Clarksville. As a result of the search warrants, items of evidence were recovered that will aid in the furtherance of the investigation.
At the time of this release, no arrests have been made and no charges are pending. Since this is an ongoing investigation, no further information will be released at this time. Should this investigation result in criminal charges and arrests at a later time, further information will be provided.
Persons arrested are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law. |
