Indianapolis, IN- Monday evening, June 25th, at 6:29 p.m., Indiana State Police responded to the report of a body on the pavement in front of a pickup truck on I-70 EB at the 82.7 mm. (I-70 EB/I-65 NB split)

Preliminary investigation revealed that Andy Dion Richmond, 29, of Indianapolis, was refueling a 1991 Chevrolet pickup on the emergency berm of I-70 EB. Evidence at the scene suggests that the pickup and the victim were both on the emergency berm past the white fog line and were not in the lane of travel. The gas receptacle on the truck is located on the left side, closest to the lane of traffic.

According to investigating officers, Richmond was struck by an unknown EB I- 70 vehicle which did not stop. Richmond was found on the emergency berm in front of the pickup. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police do not have any witnesses to the crash.
