Entry Description
Sullivan County—At 2:59 this afternoon, Indiana State Police officers from the Putnamville Post arrested a former employee of the WTWO NBC 2 news station for the alleged early morning shooting of the news/administration building and two vehicles in the parking area.
Kenneth Trey Bolinger, age 24, of Farmersburg, IN. Bolinger has been preliminarily charged with one count of Criminal Recklessness with a Deadly Weapon, Class C felony, and three counts of Criminal Mischief, Class D felony. He is in the Sullivan County Jail on $39,000 bond. He was taken into custody without incident.
As the investigation progressed throughout the day, detectives secured a Sullivan County arrest warrant for Bolinger, along with a Sullivan County search warrant for the home he shares with his parents at 704 West Main Street in Farmersburg. During the arrest and subsequent search of the premises, evidence was recovered which detectives believe is related to the WTWO NBC 2 shooting incident. The evidence was seized and taken to the Putnamville Post.
Kenneth Trey Bolinger is believed to have been recently terminated from the news agency. Any employment questions concerning Bolinger should be directed to the management of WTWO NBC 2.
The arrest and service of the search warrant was conducted by ISP officers Detective First Sergeant Jeff Hearon, Detective Sam Stearley, Crime Scene Investigator Sergeant Kris Fitzgerald, Troopers B.J. Patterson, James Hayes, and Brent Cox.
Please direct any questions concerning the investigation to ISP Sergeant Joe Watts.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. |
