Entry Description
Meridian Street Ramp to I-70
Closed Next Week
INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will close the entrance ramp from southbound Meridian Street to eastbound Interstate 70 on Monday, March 26 at 7 a.m.
INDOT has permitted the installation of a large sculpture at the interchange. The ramp will be closed and concrete barrier wall will be placed along the interstate shoulder and merge lane to eastbound I-70 to protect project crews as supplies are delivered and the artwork is constructed. For more information about this artwork project, visit http://www.kibi.org/life_evolving.
It is expected the ramp will reopen on Friday, March 30, but weather and the rate of progress will determine the length of the closure. INDOT will reopen the ramp as soon as it is safe for both motorists and installation crews. Drivers should seek an alternate route to access eastbound I-70 during the ramp closure.
Drivers can learn the locations of work zones and highway restrictions before departing by calling INDOT’s TrafficWise at 1-800-261-ROAD (7623) or by viewing an online map at www.TrafficWise.IN.gov.
Quick links to information about work zone restrictions and roadway conditions, as well as the latest INDOT news can be found at www.indot.in.gov. |
