Entry Description
Kokomo – Tonight, at approximately 6:25 p.m., officers from the Indiana State Police, the Howard County Sheriff’s Department, and the Kokomo Police Department responded to a single vehicle crash near the intersection of Albright Road and Colter Drive, which critically injured a Kokomo, IN, woman.
A preliminary investigation by Trooper Josh Tarrh revealed that Beth Leonard, 51, Kokomo, IN, was driving a 2012 Honda Accord northbound on Albright Road near the intersection of Colter Drive. For an unknown reason, she drove approximately 40 feet off the east side of the road into a retention pond. Leonard was found unconscious inside the Honda by firefighters from the Kokomo Fire Department.
She was transported by ambulance to Howard Regional Hospital and later airlifted to Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. She is listed in critical condition.
This crash is still under investigation, but Trooper Tarrh believes a medical issue could have contributed to the crash. |
