[ISP] Pendleton District Saturation Patrol Results
Start Date: 2/26/2012
End Date: 2/26/2012
Entry Description

The Pendleton District held an Operating While Intoxicated Saturation Patrol that started around 9 p.m. on Friday the 24th and ran until 4 a.m. Saturday the 25th. The purpose of the patrol was to remove impaired drivers from Pendleton District roadways before they caused needless pain, suffering, and death to innocent victims. The Indiana State Police is committed to reducing the number of impaired driving crashes as well as all crashes.

Despite slick roadway conditions during the patrol Pendleton Troopers made six Operating While Intoxicated arrests and five Minor Consuming Alcohol arrests.  They removed three suspended drivers from the roadways and investigated six crashes. Troopers wrote eighteen tickets and 37 warnings and had 11 assists of stranded motorists.

The Pendleton District covers the eight counties of Delaware, Madison, Randolph, Henry, Wayne and Union as well as Rush and Fayette counties.  Motorists are encouraged to report suspected impaired drivers by calling your nearest State Police Post or 9-1-1. Give a vehicle description, location, and direction of travel. Never follow an impaired driver.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
