[ISP] Traffic Violation Leads to Cocaine Arrest
Start Date: 2/21/2012
End Date: 2/21/2012
Entry Description

New Castle – Last evening shortly after 10:30 p.m. Pendleton Trooper Nick Razor was patrolling in New Castle when a black Chevrolet Blazer turned onto southbound 18th St. in front of him without using a turn signal.  Failing to signal lane changes and turns is one of the top ten crash causing violations in Indiana. Trooper Razor stopped the vehicle just before it reached Indiana Avenue.

After making contact with the driver, Razor became suspicious there was illegal activity going on.  A New Castle Police Department K-9 Officer was nearby and stopped to assist.  The K-9 alerted on the vehicle, and after a search cocaine and paraphernalia were found.

Arrested was the driver of the Blazer, Brent Malloy, 42, of New Castle, for Possession of Cocaine, “D” Felony, and Possession of Paraphernalia, “A” Misdemeanor.  He was lodged in the Henry County Jail.  Anyone with information about illegal drug use may call the Pendleton Post at 1-800-527-4752, or the Indiana State Police Drug Tip Line at 1-800-453-4756. Tips can be made and kept anonymous.

All criminal defendants are to be presumed innocent until, and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
