Entry Description
Pike County – Indiana State Police launched a criminal investigation after receiving information earlier this month that a Winslow couple had their home burglarized and several pieces of property stolen while they were sleeping.
Sometime after midnight on January 10th someone entered the homeowner’s residence located at 4956 South C.R. 150 East, Winslow, and allegedly stole a television set, laptop computer and purse containing $100 cash and credit cards. Detectives later received information that a man and woman had used the victim’s credit card to make unauthorized purchases at several different businesses in Vincennes and Washington. Detectives Tobias Odom and Brad Chandler later reviewed surveillance video and were able to identify the two individuals as Seth Miller, 27, and Ivy Smith, 21, both from Winslow. Detectives were also able to link Miller and Smith to a car break-in that occurred on January 10th at a different location in Winslow.
Arrest warrants were filed yesterday morning in Pike Circuit Court for Miller and Smith. At approximately 11:30 a.m. yesterday Detectives Odom and Chandler arrested Miller and Smith at their residences without incident. They were taken to the Pike County Jail where they are currently being held on a $250,000 bond.
