Entry Description
Shipshewana, IN (LaGrange County)-A 28 year old man from rural Shipshewana was arrested late Monday night on numerous drug-related charges after Indiana State Troopers and LaGrange County Sheriff Deputies attempted to serve him with court papers.
According to Trooper John Silver, on Monday, January 23rd at approximately 10:30 pm, he and three other troopers assisted the LaGrange County Sheriff Department serve court papers at a residence in the 5800 block of N County Road 1055 W.
During their encounter with James L. Ibbotson, troopers and deputies located items commonly associated with the production of methamphetamine, an active one pot meth lab, other items of drug paraphernalia and firearm for which he was not to be in possession of as a convicted felon. Ibbotson was taken into custody along with Madison L. Baldwin, 23 of rural Shipshewana and they were both taken to and incarcerated in the LaGrange County Jail without incident.
The Clandestine Laboratory Team from the Indiana State Police was called into conduct a safety assessment and processing of the items located. The LaGrange Police Department assisted at the scene.
