Entry Description
Warren County-In the evening hours yesterday, Wednesday, January 18th, 2012, Trooper Kyle Wentland responded to a crash on US Highway 136 near 600 West that resulted in one of the vehicles rolling over several times.
Preliminary investigation revealed that at approximately 8:56 pm, yesterday, a 1996 Chevrolet, driven by Matthew Wheeling , 18 of East Lafayette, was going west on US 136 when it rear ended a 2008 Chevrolet pick-up, driven by Holli J. Beckett, 50 of Williamsport, that was in front of him.
The pick-up was forced into a guard rail and then rolled several times across US 136 and came to rest inverted on the guard rail in the eastbound lane of US 136 facing the center line.
The Wheeling’s Chevrolet went into the eastbound lane on US 136, sideswiped a guard rail and continued for 125 yards down US 136 before stopping in the westbound lane.
Beckett’s minor four-year-old son was taken to Saint Vincent Hospital in Williamsport for neck pain.
Wheeling appeared to under the influence of a controlled substance. He was arrested and cited for Operating While Intoxicated, Following too Closely, and no vehicle insurance. Wheeling was taken to the Warren County Jail.

All Suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. |
