Nightly Short-Term Restrictions Next Week

To Replace Insterstate Lights in Indy Area

INDIANAPOLIS – The Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) will temporarily restrict traffic next week in various locations in the metropolitan area to replace interstate lighting.

The restrictions are expected to be very short-term, lasting only minutes, and locations will change as nightly work progresses.  The work will not require any ramp closures; however, some traffic lanes will be restricted to protect workers.  Nightly restrictions will begin at 9 p.m. and will be lifted by 6 a.m. beginning Sunday, January 16 through the morning of Friday, January 20.

Sunday, January 15:

• Work zone on the ramp to northbound I-65 from Illinois Street
• Work zone on the ramp to southbound I-65 from Delaware Street
• Right lane restriction on southbound I-65 to I-65 South/I-70 West (north split)
• Right lane restriction on northbound I-65 just past West Street
• Right lane restriction on southbound I-65 just before West Street

Monday, January 16:

• Right lane restriction on westbound I-70 to northbound I-65 (north split)
• Left lane restriction on westbound I-70 to northbound I-65 (north split)
• Work zone on the ramp from northbound I-65/I-70 West to northbound I-65 (north split)

Tuesday, January 17:

• Left lane restriction on northbound I-65 over the White River
• Left lane restriction on southbound I-65 over the White River
• Right lane restriction on the ramp from westbound I-865 to northbound I-65
• Right lane restriction on northbound I-65 just past 16^th Street
• Right lane restriction on southbound I-65 between Fall Creek Boulevard and 21^st Street

Wednesday, January 18:

• Work zone on the ramp from westbound I-70 to northbound Pennsylvania Street
• Work zone on the ramp from southbound Pennsylvania Street to westbound I-70
• Work zone on the ramp from Harding Street to eastbound I-70
• Right lane restriction on westbound I-70 just before Kentucky Avenue
• Right lane restriction on eastbound I-70 just past the White River
• Right lane restriction on westbound I-70 just before the White River

Thursday, January 19:

• Work zone on the ramp from westbound I-70 to southbound I-465 (east side)
• Right lane restriction on southbound US 31 (north side) under I-465 near the ramp to eastbound I-465
• Left lane restriction on southbound US 31 (north side) under I-465
• Right lane restriction on northbound US 31 (north side) near the ramp to westbound I-465
