Entry Description
Sullivan County—This morning at 11:16 AM, Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call from family members reporting an alleged domestic battery occurring at 2237 South 2nd Street in the town of Merom.
Indiana State Police Troopers and Sullivan County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene and allegedly found the 31 year old female victim, Alicia R. Sexton, suffering from many visible signs of battery. The live-in boyfriend was immediately taken into custody and transported to the Sullivan County Jail. The female victim refused treatment at the scene, but was taken by a family member to the Sullivan County Community Hospital for treatment. Results of her treatment are unavailable.
John R. Grimes, age 29, Merom, IN., was preliminarily charged with one count of Domestic Battery, D felony and one count of Disorderly Conduct, A misdemeanor. He was incarcerated in the Sullivan County Jail.
The case was investigated by ISP Trooper B.J. Patterson. He was assisted by Trooper Polly Blackburn and Sullivan County Sheriff’s Deputies Brad Miller and David Haddix.
Under the Law, criminal charges are merely accusations and the defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty. |
