Entry Description
Daviess County, Washington: A traffic stop for an expired license plate leads to the discovery of a meth lab and leaves a Montgomery man behind bars charged with several drug charges.
Last night at approximately 6:10 p.m. Trooper Jarrod Lents conducted a traffic stop on a white Ford Ranger with expired license plates on SR 57 at Main Street in Washington. A computer check on the driver, James Colin Truelove, 21, Montgomery, showed that his driver’s license that was suspended as a habitual traffic violator. Trooper Lents took Truelove into custody without incident and then conducted a search of the truck.
During the search of the truck an active methamphetamine lab was found inside the cab of the truck as well as many items used to manufacture methamphetamine. Also located in the vehicle was a small quantity of methamphetamine, 40 pseudoephedrine tablets, as well as marijuana. The Indiana State Police Clandestine Lab Team responded to the scene to analyze and dispose of the hazardous materials and Truelove was transported to the Daviess County Jail.
